[rrd-announce] rrdtool 1.2.9

Folks,

rrdtool 1.2.9 is out on
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/oetiker/webtools/rrdtool/pub

Features:

* consider the users locale settings when rendering text. This
  means that if you run rrdtool with LANG=en_US.UTF-8 set, you will
  be able to use any symbol in your font.

  This feature only works if your OS supports the mbstowcs function
  otherwise the behavior will be as before (configure checks for
  this)

* added build notes for Mac OS X to the rrdbuild documentation

* rrd_version function for people who want to know which version of
  librrd.so they have loaded.

Bugfixes:

* make perl-shared bindings build on Mac OS X and HP UX

* do not go into an endless loop when encountering a bad glyph in a
  truetype font.

* podcheck all pod documentation

* remove iconv test from configure ... we do not need this
  this will make building rrdtool more stable.

* make tcl bindings compile again ... no idea if they work though.
