Or, alternately, only accept data that is in the proper format.

Feeding data as an arbitrary time/value series is done by creating
a database and feeding the numbers using rrdtool update.

When you already have a series of numbers in the proper format (for
instance you stored them from MRTG log files) this can also be done
by using rrdtool update but it might be useful to just present a
grapher with the array.
