yup, this is something that has come up before.  Please look at the
docs for rrdtool graph (the docs from the developers release that is)
and comment on SHIFT.

It is *not* *there* *yet*.  (sorry, need to stress that :)

The inspiration is already present.  Implementing the beast however
is something I will not do in spare hours.  If someone else wants to
do it: be my guest.  If not, it'll have to wait until my next vacation.
