[rrd-developers] Java binding... Status?

Hello, 

For a project, I am looking into the Java binding to RRD. I have some 
questions:

0.) What is the newest version, is it actively maintained?
1.) What is the licensing status of the rrdtool-1.0.33-java.tar.gz stuff?
    The author (David A. Neitz) has an e-mail @sprint.com, are there any 
    licensing implications due to this? David?
2.) Will it be included into the devel tree? I volunteer to integrate it 
    with the build system should question 1.) lead to a license-compatible 
    situation (trying to make it thread safe on the way [this seems to 
    come up whenever I post here]).
