OK - yes, I tried that and it seems to work fine. Thanks for
the hint.

I did, but apparently I didn't know what to look for. The man-pages
are fine for the commandline utilities, but the docs on the C API
could use some improvement :-)

I guess I'll have to write a "C programmers guide" for RRDtool some day.
