Hi,

When I build rrdtool, I add the rrdtool include and
lib directories (in your case
-I/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.11/include and
-L/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.11/lib) in my CPPFLAGS and
LDFLAGS.
