New Features

 * --alt-autoscale-min switch to complement --alt-autoscale-max
 * thread save version of rrd_fetch: rrd_fetch_r
 * allow negative integers in rrdtool update (DERIVE)
 * new CDEF operator ABS added
 * --unit-length can reserve label space even when --y-grid=none
   this allows to make fixed size graphs
 * use python build system to build python extension

Bug fixes

 * improved Netware and Win32 Makefiles
 * properly release font resources after use.
 * rrtool restore is more robust against invalid input
 * fixed segfault on long error messages
 * fixed potential segfault in rrdtool xport
 * no gnu-isms in example Makefile
 * enable perlcc with arguments
 * fixed memory problem in rrdtool dump
 * rename getopt.[hc] to rrd_getopt.[hc] to avoid confusion
 * fixed parsing absolute time values in AT syntax
 * fixed strftime segfault in rrdcgi
 * make sure the tcl extension uses the right header files
 * made building ruby extension more robust
