In that article you talk about "Writing the same amount of data into 10
files [rather than 60,000]" - what exactly do you mean by that? It kinda
sounds like you would want to somehow merge multiple files into one but
I can hardly believe that this is really what you wanted to say...

This would only cause problems if that mix is running on _one_ system,
right? At least, I don't see how this should be a problem if you're
using different versions of rrdtool on different hosts. I suppose the
former is quite unlikely unless you're hacking on rrdtool in which case
you should know what you're doing ;-)
