the important thing to keep in mind when doing this conversion is that you
actually need todo some math as you go ...

in mrtg you have a logfile which reduces the resolution as you go along ...
first it is a 5 minutes then it drops to 30 minutes and so on ... in rrdtool
every RRA contains all the data starting from the current point in time. So
you need to do some math as you tag along to fill in the blanks in the low
resolution RRAs ...
