you are not, but in the pub/beta directory of the swiss rrdtool website there
is a patch for 1.0.6 which adds a feature to rrd-restore which alows you to
make sure that the values of a restored xmlk file are within MIN and MAX
limits ... otherwhise they get replaced by NaN
