I comtemplated that idea... but I have minimal_heartbeat set
to one day ala log2rrd.pl:

 bash% rrdtool dump MadisonSD.rrd | grep heartbeat
                 <minimal_heartbeat> 86400 </minimal_heartbeat>
                 <minimal_heartbeat> 86400 </minimal_heartbeat>

Other ideas?
