Just to make sure: "depending on the xff value" means that you may
need to alter this. If you want to see the unknowns, you have to make
sure that RRDtool does NOT interpolate the data when only one unknown
was received. Normally if one sample is missed, the gap is silently
filled as normally you would not be interested in missing samples.
