Today you sent me mail regarding How to get data from desired RRA?:

*>
*> Hello Tobias,
*> I would be grateful if you helped me with that problem.
*> How could I extract values from one of existing RRAs ?
*> My RRD is sort of standart - 4 RRAs with consolidation
*> function AVERAGE : 5min, 30 min, 2 hours, 1 day resolutions.
*>
*> Whenever I say "rrdtool myfile.rrd fetch AVERAGE -r [ 300 | 1800 | 7200 |
*> 86400 ]" I always get rows from "5 min"-RRA.
*>
*> Is it a bug or a feature ?

this is a feature ... it is connected with the model for selecting
the data ... the point is that rrd_fetch values optimal coverage of
the desired area higher than proper resolution ...

by not defining a start and end time for your fetch request you
make rrd_fetch always chose the highest resolution RRA because this
will increasse coverage given the RRAs are long enough ...

cheers
