I'll bet installing the automake-1.4-4 and texinfo-3.12f-4 rpms
will appease your paranoia:

 % rpm -q -f `which automake`
 automake-1.4-4

 % rpm -q -f `which makeinfo`
 texinfo-3.12f-4

(but I don't think they'll do much else for ya.)
