[rrd-users] What is KPIC for ?

Hi all,

I used RRDTOOL 1.0.9 on solaris 7, 
The install scripts worked fine without change.

I have to upgrade to solaris 8.
I try to install RRDTOOL 1.0.13 (but it is the same for 1.0.9)
and have this error :

cc -c -I../src -I../gd1.3 -I/usr/local/include -D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE
-D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -g -O2 -Wall -pedantic -fPIC    
-DVERSION=\"1.000091\" -DXS_VERSION=\"1.000091\" -KPIC
-I/usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.0/sun4-solaris/CORE  RRDs.c
cc: unrecognized option `-KPIC'

I have no idea of what is -KPIC. any body knows what is it about ?
