[rrd-users] How to add variables (DS) to an existing rrd database?

Is there a way to add additional DS to an exiting RRD. Will the following work

- Dump the database
- Redefine the database with additional DSs
- Restore the rrd-database

Please confirm or let me know if there is a better way of handling this. I would
like
to save my historical data.
