I'm trying to install rrdtool-1.0.28 on a RedHat 6.2 system with ActivePerl 5.6, and am having the following problem:

cd perl-piped && /usr/bin/perl Makefile.PL
Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
Have /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.0/i586-linux/Config.pm expected /usr/local/ActivePerl-5.6/lib/5.6.0/i686-linux-thread-multi/Config.pm
Your perl and your Config.pm seem to have different ideas about the architecture
they are running on.
Perl thinks: [i586-linux]
Config says: [i686-linux-thread-multi]
This may or may not cause problems. Please check your installation of perl if you
have problems building this extension.
Writing Makefile for RRDp
cd perl-piped && make

make[1]: *** [perl_piped] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/drk/rrdtool-1.0.28'
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1

any ideas? How do I get rid of the references to the older version of perl?
