[rrd-users] graphing question...

I am fairly new to rrdtool, but am using it to
graph temperatures, which it does very well.

Of course one always wants to do more...
Any suggestions on how I could overlay points showing
on a graph where a device is in an on or off state...
my best guess would be to log bogus numbers that would
plot on the graph, for example, i want to see when an
air conditioner or heater turns on and off on the plot
as well, to see how temps are affected. I was thinking
of writing a another rrdfile and putting in say an
entry for 50 degrees when unit is off and 60 for when
on.. so the plot would at least show a line jumping up
and down. But it just seems to be a bit of a kludgy
solution.

I cant be the first person that wants to do some kind
of plot showing times of an off/on status on top of
a graph can I???

Thanks for any help!
