I think you have to alter your script for the memory usage.
Currently you are plotting a line, then an area.  It's better
to do this the other way around, in that case the line won't
be masked by the area. Also, IMHO, red and purple don't mix
very well in the same graph.  This is not only a matter of
taste, it also has to do with contrast.
