You need to read more about RRDtool.  "Of course different variable"
tells that you don't understand how RRDtool works.

An RRD is updated for all DSes (variables) at the same time. No
exceptions.  If you don't specify a value for a certain DS, the
unknown value is used.

To answer your question: It is not possible.
