You should use the desired variable named in place of "value".
Also, you need to use upper case for "unknown".

This is a redefinition of clean_sent.  It doesn't work (or at
least: it shouldn't work).  Furthermore you have something
similar to " if (false) then this else that ".  This will always
evaluate to "that" (value in your case).

If you want to plot the modified variables, you need to specify
them here and not use the original vars.
