[rrd-users] a question on RRD

Hi,

This is my first time to use RRD. I tried to record the result from a
program run every day.

Initially I set both the STEP and HEARTBEAT to 86400. but if the program run
slower sometime, I will lose data becuase HEARTBEAT is bigger than STEP at
that time. Then I increase HEARTBEAT to make sure I do not lose data. But
after this change I maybe include two PDPs in one HEARTBEAT, then RRD
calculates the average for me automatically.

Any idea how to make it right?
