[rrd-users] Problem about RRA updating

Hi, all.

I'm using RRDtool 1.0.33 and I'm trying to get some status of hosts,
switches and routers with SNMP. The SNMP server installed is ``ucd-snmp''.
(be also called ``net-snmp'')

The problem is that RRDtool get strange values only when getting from
the following MIBs.

iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.ucdavis.extTable.extEntry.extOutput
(OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.8.1.101.*)

I'd like to get the number of logins, lines of access.log, error.log,
etc, every five minits. So I've made the Perl script which count lines
of those files by using the output of /usr/bin/who and /usr/bin/wc,
and configured snmpd.conf at the host.

This system is working correctly when I use snmpwalk and snmpget on
an interactive shell. But RRDtool interpret oddly.

For example, the number of logins is usually less than 10 or so.
But the graph generated by RRDtool shows some *millions* logined.

Note that the strange value is probably some millons times as much as
``real'' value, i think.

Please tell me what you think I should check.

P.S.
I'm not using any Frontends such as Cricket for collecting data and
updating RRA, but my Perl script.

Thanks,

M.R.Nakamura.
