[rrd-users] updating RRD continuously

Hello!

I created an RRD with a DS of type ABSOLUTE.

I would like to know if updating data with:
rrdtool update test.rrd 1000000001:1 1000000102:1 1000000419:1

Would have the same effect as with:
rrdtool update test.rrd 1000000600:3

If so, is it possible to keep a proccess updating the RRD?
I am using a C daemon that forks whenever it shall update the RRD.
