Ok, this isn't working, and I don't know why.

finger @host1 | grep -c tty > host1.users

creates a text file with "20" in the file (at the moment)
so I did this manually:

rrdtool create host1users.rrd --step 300 DS:host1users:GAUGE:600:0:1
RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 RRA:AVERAGE:0.5:1:600 RRA:MAX:0.5:1:600 RRA:MAX:0.5:1:600

then I did this:

rrdtool update host1users.rrd N: < host1.users

and I also tried this:

rrdtool update host1users.rrd N:25

when I do this:

rrdtool dump host1users.rrd > host1.xml

I see all "NaN" for all the above attempts

Why ??

Dan.
