[rrd-users] MRTG to RRD conversion loses all data.

Hello,

Longtime MRTG user converting to RRD database format. I am using MRTG 2.9.18 and RRDTool 1.0.38 on windows 2000. When I use the "LogFormat: rrdtool" config file entry to convert to rrd use, the system creates an RRD file for each polled SNMP variable, but the files appear to be empty. The conversion takes 20-30 seconds per log file, so it is doing a lot of something. A fetch from any of the rrd files returns something like the following:

D:\mrtg-work>rrdtool fetch prod2-traffic.rrd AVERAGE -s -15000
                      ds0           ds1
1024077900: -1.#IND000000e+000 -1.#IND000000e+000
1024078200: -1.#IND000000e+000 -1.#IND000000e+000
1024078500: -1.#IND000000e+000 -1.#IND000000e+000
.
.

(in this case the related data was polled by the following MRTG config:
Target[prod2-traffic]: 1:snmpstringhere at 192.168.0.1
MaxBytes[prod2-traffic]: 12500000
Pagetop[prod2-traffic]:
prod2 Traffic in Bytes/s

)

All of the graphs (created with rrd_cgi) are blank. If I allow MRTG to continue to run, it does store data in the RRDs and subsequent graphs show the new data, but all of the pre-conversion data is missing. Can anyone shed some light on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks for your time,
Matt Ruehlen
