[rrd-users] How do I warn rrdtool that I've reset my counters?

Hi,

I have an app that writes counters to an rrdfile. However, when I restart my
app, rrd-update thinks that I've wrapped around back to near-zero and I get
a big spike in my data.

I know that I can use maximum sizes for data or switch to type ABSOLUTE..

But is there a way to let know rrdtool update know that I've had to reset
all the counters? (perhaps pass in UNKN or NAN values upon startup?)

Thanks a bunch!

- Brad
