You'll have to do this via the polling mechanism that you are using.
SNMPv2c supports 64bit counters which should be more than enough!

You can append the following string to the target directive in MRTG:

:::::2

i.e.

Target[some_target]: 2:public at some_target:::::2

Have fun.

Subject: [rrd-users] Newbie - counter wrap

Hello,
i´ve the following DS:

data traf1in=traf1Bytes COUNTER:600:0:U

Where traf1Bytes is declared as an OID which is polling a Cisco Switch
interface.
Every day at same hour my graph goes wrong (near 0 bytes) and then it
fix, i think the counter is wrapping.
should i change this counter to 64 bit?
how can i deal with counter wraps?

thanks
Alberto
