(Some of) your options are:
- use ntop with rrdtool integration
- use the mangle table of iptables to mark packets for individual ip's
and count them
- bite the bullit and implement NeTraMet or something similar.
For any but the first option you'll have to find a copy and pastable
example or do the programming anyway.
Serge.

Subject: [rrd-users] Plotting internet traffic by IP or host
Hi to all,
I am new to this list. Probably my question is not really related to
RRDTool but after a lot of search on the web and on this list I am still
try to understand how to do. I installed RRDTool on a linux box (redhat
8.0) it works fine; I can plot the total internet traffic volume on my
nic
card (ppp0 by ADSL) on the server/gateway but now I would like to
plot/count traffic generated by host or users/IP coming from my internel
lan (there are only 6 Win computers) still using RRD if possible. I
installed also Squid so hosts use transparent proxying with SQUID
(prerouting with IPTABLES), so I could also monitor Squid cache, but I
am
just a user, not a programmer nor a hacker, so I do not really figure
out
how to do. Probably the answer is an easy one! May be someone could help
me?
Thanks a lot
