[rrd-users] Graphing x-axis: date instead of day

Hello List...
In a month graph, I'd like to enter the day's date on the x-axis. Rrdgraph 
man page briefly mentions the "strftime format" to generate the text of 
the label but I don't understand what that means.  Is there any more info 
on configuring the x-axis available?  Any help/suggestions are 
appreciated.
