Indeed the colon is a problem.

*If* the double slash is also a problem, you may be able to
overcome this by finding the parameter where you set the
directory (d:/monitor/cpu/) and appending a single dot -or-
by removing the trailing slash.
This would result in the following line:
    a=d\:/monitor/cpu/./paris_cpu.rrd:ds0:AVERAGE
or
    a=d\:/monitor/cpu/paris_cpu.rrd:ds0:AVERAGE
which both are correct.
