I know nothing about it but I'll follow this with interest!

At first I thought they might have developed something that looks
similar, but then I had a look at the pdf, and you can even see your
partially cut off name!!

I would have expected Dell to at least contact you before they used
rrdtool...  But at least you can expect some big awareness for rrdtool.
