I'm getting this barf while doing a gmake on my FreeBSD box.
cd perl-shared && gmake
gmake[4]: Entering directory `/home/erich/tmp/rrdtool-2004-01-21/bindings/perl-shared'
cp RRDs.pm blib/lib/RRDs.pm
cp ntmake.pl blib/lib/ntmake.pl
gmake[4]: *** No rule to make target `../../src/.libs/librrd_private.a', needed by `RRDs.c'. Stop.
gmake[4]: Leaving directory `/home/erich/tmp/rrdtool-2004-01-21/bindings/perl-shared'
gmake[3]: *** [perl_shared] Error 2

gmake[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/home/erich/tmp/rrdtool-2004-01-21/bindings'
gmake[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/home/erich/tmp/rrdtool-2004-01-21'
gmake: *** [all] Error 2
I don't see any librrd_private.a in src/.libs/
