[rrd-users] command not found

I downloaded, compiled and installed per the directions on;

http://www.rrdtool.com//compiling.html

When I type rrdtool at the command prompt I get the following;

-bash: rrdtool: command not found

 [root at localhost /]# which rrdtool
/usr/bin/which: no rrdtool in
(/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6
/bin:/root/bin)

 [root at localhost /]# find . -name 'rrdtool*' | more
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46/bin/rrdtool
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46/doc/rrdtool.pod
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46/doc/rrdtool.txt
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46/html/rrdtool.html
./usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46/man/man1/rrdtool.1
[root at localhost /]#

[root at localhost /]# cd /usr/local/rrdtool-1.0.46
[root at localhost rrdtool-1.0.46]# ls
bin  contrib  doc  examples  html  include  lib  man
[root at localhost rrdtool-1.0.46]# cd bin
[root at localhost bin]# ls
rrdcgi  rrdtool  rrdupdate  trytime
[root at localhost bin]# rrdtool
-bash: rrdtool: command not found
[root at localhost bin]#



Is this just a simple chmod thing that I need to do?
