[rrd-users] FW: Overflow question

Hi RRD users,

I have a device that uses 32-bit to indicate the amount of traffic passing
through it at a particular time. Unfortunately, extremely high traffic
causes it to overflow, giving me a much lower value that what is expected.
This has result in a series of spike in the rrdgraph during peak hours.

I am currently using the following config:

DST: GAUGE (tried COUNTER and ABSOLUTE without success)

RRA:AVERAGE:0:1:600
RRA:AVERAGE:0:6:700
RRA:AVERAGE:0:24:775
RRA:AVERAGE:0:288:797
RRA:MAX:0:1:600
RRA:MAX:0:6:700
RRA:MAX:0:24:775
RRA:MAX:0:288:797
RRA:LAST:0:1:600
RRA:LAST:0:6:700
RRA:LAST:0:24:775 RRA:LAST:0:288:797

Any idea how I can configure rrd to solve my equipment bug?

Thanks.

NHK
