But I do not see an rpm version of rrdtool for the current version.
I only see rrdtool.{version#].tar.gz ., at least on the offcial site.

Can I download the 1.2.8 , unzip it, untar it and then run
./configure
make
make install

Will it replace the current version? Will that work?
