BTW, for 1.0.50 the build results in the following files being created:
RPM build errors:
Installed (but unpackaged) file(s) found:
/usr/lib/librrd.0.0.0
/usr/lib/perl
So for some reason the shared libraries end up without a .so extension.
(Even though configure seems to set the SO_EXT correct, it is not used)
