[rrd-users] RRD with historical data

I'm quite sure that something similar has been posted in the past but I cant 
seem to find it so here goes...

I have a few thousand daily values that correspond to: messages/day.  I guess 
my question would be something like: How can I create an RRD with a start time 
that is 3 years ago (so that I can feed all the past data)?
