Good Day all:

I am trying to install RRDtool v. 1.2.11 on Redhat Enterprise Linux 3. I
got through the compile process after correcting a couple of issues.
Anyway, when I went to test using the example perl scripts, all of the perl
scripts in the "examples" directory executed just fine except the
piped-demo.pl script. I got the following error:

[root at aiscgary examples]# ./piped-demo.pl
* Creating RRD with properties equivalent to mrtg-2.x logfile

open2: exec of ../src/rrdtool - failed at
/usr/local/rrdtool-1.2.11/lib/perl/5.8.0/RRDp.pm line 120
Anyway, after a google search with no luck, I decided to move on. I then
copied and edited my MRTG config file adding the following to the top:

PathAdd: /usr/local/rrdtool/bin/
LibAdd: /usr/local/rrdtool/lib/perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/
LogFormat: rrdtool

I then ran MRTG against the config file to get the following error:

[root at aiscgary run]# env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /opt/mrtg/run/rrd-mrtg-sun.cfg

ERROR: Can only restore version >= 2 (Not 0001). Dump your old rrd using a
current rrdtool dump.

such file or directory

I did a google search for "ERROR: Can only restore version >= 2 (Not 0001).
Dump your old rrd using a current rrdtool dump" with no luck.

I would greatly appreciate any help that you could give me.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
