Your intention: let e0 be a time range, let e1 follow that range, and so on.
That's how I understand it as well.

Unfortunately some optimalisation code in rrdtool doesn't allow for this.
These four ranges are effectively the same.

I'm sure that last "t0" is a typo.  For the rest: you use total as it is
intended to be used.


I haven't got any experience with specifying start/end on the DEF lines.

Maybe you can work around the problem by specifying four different files,
these can be copies or maybe even links.
