Hi all,
I think rrdutil have a bug when you try to monitor HPUX lan card.
This bug is due by IfDescr HP MIB that reports lan card name longer that one
word:
This is the problem:

snmpwalk -c public -v 1 leo|grep ifDescr
IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: lan0 HP PCI 10/100Base-TX Core
[100BASE-TX,FD,AUTO,TT=1500]
IF-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: lan1 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port
[100BASE-TX,FD,AUTO,TT=
IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: lan2 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port [NO
LINK,,AUTO,TT=1500]
IF-MIB::ifDescr.5 = STRING: lan4 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port [NO
LINK,,AUTO,TT=1500]
IF-MIB::ifDescr.6 = STRING: lan5 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port [NO
LINK,,AUTO,TT=1500]
IF-MIB::ifDescr.7 = STRING: lan6 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port [NO
LINK,,AUTO,TT=1500]
IF-MIB::ifDescr.8 = STRING: lan7 HP A5506B PCI 10/100Base-TX 4 Port [NO
LINK,,AUTO,TT=1500]

create_rrd_db: creating /mon/rrdtool/db/rrdutil/sqlcomm/net_lan0 HP PCI
10/100Base-TX Core [100BASE-TX,FD,AUTO,TT=1500].rrd...RRDs ERROR: creating
'/mon/rrdtool/db/rrdutil/sqlcomm/net_lan0 HP PCI 10/100Base-TX Core

WARNING: create_rrd_db /mon/rrdtool/db/rrdutil/sqlcomm/net_lan0 HP PCI

Is there any solution or workaround?

Thank you

Mauro
