[rrd-users] Creating graphs with colored horizontal bands as a background

Hello All,

I am investigating creating graphs that have coloured horizontal bands as
backgrounds for the data being plotted.

The idea is to have lightly coloured areas representing normal, warning and
critical levels for graphs of CPU Utilization, Disk I/O rates and so on.
Normal areas would have no additional colour, warning yellow and critical
red, for example.

I have created some graph prototypes using RRDGraph, but the results have
been mediocre (not an RRDGraph criticism), albeit functional. A potential
solution would be to create an enhanced RRDGraph command to allow access to
more of Cairo's functionality.

Has anyone else tackled this sort of problem ?

Best and Happy Holidays !
