You can do it just like creating a graph but use print instead of gprint
It will print the values on the command line not in the graph.

i need to print the 5 minute average traffic value in mbit out of my rrd 
files. The rrd is filled by mrtg using the rrd option. Can someone tell 
me how to do this?
