[rrd-users] rrdtool 1.2.30, nfs and mmap

I'm trying to migrate my cacti rrd store to a netapp, and even with 
rrdtool compiled with --disable-mmap, I'm still getting locking errors.

Error message is:
ERROR: could not lock RRD

OS is FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE

NFS mount options are:
rw,intr,nfsv3,-w=32768,-r=32768

Has anyone solved this problem?  I thought recompiling with 
--mmap-disabled was all I needed to do.
