We're in the process of replacing cricket with our own rrdpoller. Everything seems to be going great except that as we look at the graphs we're seeing some discrepancies in the peaks.

Here is a copy of two graphs, http://tinypic.com/r/2hyxoue/5

The cricket graph is on the bottom and our graph is on the top. The time right before midnight Saturday is telling because the interface throughput was maxed out (hence the flat top on the cricket graph). Our graph shows these strange spikes that are bigger than the interface capacity.

The difference in the RRD
The cricket graphs were created with a step of 300, but because of scaling issues it's being updated every 600 seconds. Our graph was created with a step of 600 and being collected at 600.

Any idea's where we need to look to figure out where these strange spikes are originating from?
