[rrd-users] Must callers to rrd_mumble reset opterr and optind?

In looking at ntop sources, I see it setting optind and opterr to 0
before making rrd_mumble calls (eg rrd_create()) - is that strictly
necessary with rrd 1.4.3 or later?
