[rrd-users] Date instead of week #

Is there any way to tell RRDTool to label the X-axis with dates instead 
of week numbers and still use a bit of auto configuration?
I know I can do it with the '--x-grid' option, but the problem is that 
I have a CGI that generates graphs with different time ranges (from 2 
hours to 2 years) and if I could do it without a lot of extra 
calculation and pre-defined label definitions for different ranges It 
would be nice...
