[rrd-users] What document prep tools accept rrd graphs well

I would like to write a small paper which includes graphs generated by 
rrd.  OpenOffice and LibreOffice do not seem to import rrd's .svg files 
all that well (they get this red overlay - FireFox displays them just 
fine).  They don't seem to want to import EPS or PDF.

I'm thinking I wish to avoid PNG simply because it is a raster format 
and I'm looking to let the images have their size changed without 
getting blotchy.

Any suggestions as to a document prep tool I can run under Linux that 
will accept rrd's svg files?
