You may find that RRDtool is less useful in this case. You end up with a lot 
of workarounds, basically reducing RRDtool to a graphing program. Having 
said this, I would seriously recommend looking at other tools to do your 
job.

If you would use RRDtool, and do not carefully avoid all its consolidation, 
you will end up with an average wind direction of 180 built from 350 and 010 
at some point in the future.
