I guess it worked before, because the memory area at
cmd_update[5] was set to NULL by your system.
Perhaps you calloc()ed it?
Anyway. Adding the NULL pointer at the end doesn't
cost a lot and is easy.

Don't worry.
The position doesn't matter.

I guess it is the getopt_long call inside the rrd_*() call that changes the
order of the arguments. It's nothing I would worry about.
